Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers (RTOs) are primarily used in applications where the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are present in low concentrations and in large amounts of exhaust flue gas. They are also highly suitable in cases where the VOCs contain corrosive substances that are toxic to the catalyst and that require high temperatures to oxidize some odor. The RTO uses the heat generated by the decomposition of VOCs to preheat and decompose the untreated VOCs, thereby achieving high thermal efficiency.
